Three days from a Shinjuku base

A 72-hour Tokyo Subway Ticket costs ¥2,000. Twelve short Tokyo Metro ticket rides at the current minimum paper fare of ¥180 would total ¥2,160. If several journeys use JR instead, add them separately and the pass may no longer be the lower total.

Five days from an Asakusa base

A 72-hour ticket plus a 48-hour ticket costs ¥3,500. Twenty short Tokyo Metro paper-ticket rides at ¥180 would total ¥3,600. The ¥100 difference disappears if airport, JR or private-rail journeys replace some subway rides.

These examples use the current Tokyo Metro minimum paper fare only to show the calculation. Enter the official fare for each planned ride rather than assuming every trip costs ¥180.
